Behind the Fragrance: A Closer Look at Fragrance Families


Join us on Thursday, September 27 for a special fragrance training event!

This complimentary full-day partner education program will be held at the College of DuPage Culinary & Hospitality Center in Glen Ellyn, IL. Behind the Fragrance: A Closer Look at Fragrance Families will be a fully hands on and interactive training teaching six important fragrance families: Floral, Animalic, Citrus, Woody, Herbal, and Green. Upon completion, our partner will gain a better understanding of the six fragrance families and how they are used to create fragrances.

Storytelling Through Fragrance: Orchidia’s Creative Narrative at the NYSCC

Orchidia Fragrances took to storytelling this year at the 39th Annual NYSCC Suppliers’ Day, one of the largest events on the cosmetic industry calendar in North America. Thousands gathered at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York on May 15-16 to showcase the latest innovations in personal care and beauty products.

Visitors to Orchidia’s booth were met with whimsical depictions of eight fictional dragons from various short stories, novels, and film. Displayed in a trophy-like fashion, these creatures were mounted with push buttons to release billowing aromatic smoke, each having its own unique scent. Notes of sea air and Egyptian neroli described the breath of Leviathan, a Biblical sea serpent, while more gourmand notes of butterbeer, whisky, and sweets captured the magic of the Hungarian Horntail from J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. With a medieval throne positioned next to the dragons, attendees were encouraged to dress in costume, snap a selfie, and share their experience.

Another section of the booth captivated attendees through ancient Egyptian folklore. Visitors completed puzzles and solved riddles to unlock the mystery of Manetho’s secret fragrance, Kyphi, a perfume embodying the beauty and warmth of ancient Egypt. Once completed, the fragrance was bottled and given to each participant as a reminder of their travel through time.
